Wrote up this little one-shot for my new Albedo x Ben community, itisnt_selfcest. I tried to make this a drabble, but I am incapable of writing anything 100 words or less, so this became a short one-shot instead. ^^;

Also, this song fits this fic quite well. Used it for inspiration. ;D

Addiction

Although his mind begged and pleaded vehemently, Albedo couldn’t bring himself to quit eating the disgusting earth food his body so strangely craved. Since being imprisoned in his human body all his attempts to refuse the warm, greasy, chili fries ended in catastrophe. No matter how much he loathed their odor, no matter how revolting the flavor was to his Galvan pallet, when prison guards slipped in that fast food meal he devoured it down to the very last fry.

To put it simply, it had become an addiction.

In a similar and far more terrifying manner another habit had emerged. Since the start of his incarceration he was incapable of looking at his own reflection without lusting after it. The peculiar sensation of his heart fluttering wildly in his chest left his cheeks burning with mortification. He had never felt that way about his appearance in the good old days before being stuck inside such a lowlife organism.

Late one night Albedo shattered the small mirror within his cell after realizing it wasn’t himself he was longing for. Five guards had to quickly restrain and sedate the horror struck teenager to prevent his bloodcurdling screams from waking up the rest of the prisoners.

His dreams were always about him. Night after night he envisioned himself lying beside the boy whose appearance almost perfectly mirrored his own, save for the difference in hair and eye color. He imagined himself stroking the boy’s soft hair, kissing his inviting lips, caressing his lithe body. He dreamed of the boy giving himself up to him, pleading him to take him in, and spending restless nights thrusting himself inside him.

Night after night he awoke cursing Azmuth for the unjust punishment he had given him.

Even after years had passed, the dreams remained. And while Albedo eventually found a way to escape from captivity, he could not find a way to escape from his fate. Almost without realizing it, he hijacked the nearest spacecraft, and sped off towards the planet his so-called “twin” called home. There he easily located the boy that for so long had haunted his dreams. But he restrained himself from ever coming forward, for fear of being captured again.

There is where he would spend the rest of his days, trying in vain to re-create the deranged fantasies of his dreams. He took another bite of his chili fries as he observed the boy having lunch with his friends from the shadows of an alley way.

To put it simply, Ben had become his addiction.
